Hello everyone!! So... yes. I leave for the Philippines at 12:05 am. It is a 16 hour flight to hong kong and then a 2 hour flight to manlila. After arriving in manilla i will be picked up and we will go on an 8 hour jeepnee ride to Baguio!! I cannot wait!!!! I am really nervous to be flying solo but i know that i will be fine and protected.

I seriously cannot believe that the time has finally come. I have absolutely loved being able to be here in California but i am ready to go out there and take everything in.

 

I have been making sure to get some Filipino culture out here though. There is a family who is Filipino and so.... I mentioned that I wanted to eat "Balut" (half developed duck egg) and guess what!!! THEY GOT FOR ME!!! I have pictures that I will have to send later. (Sorry for not sending any pictures at all by the way. I will get on it.) The balut was not bad at all though. I was so surprised! You just cant think about it or really even look at it. You crack it open and drink the "juice" I dont know what the juice is... but it was good. And then you eat the yolk that had vain things all over it but again, it was good. and then.. You get to the chick. They were talking about how there is a white part that you dont eat and i thought that what I was, at the time.. disecting... the white part they were talking about. NOPE. that was the chick that I was supposed to eat next. So afer seeing the eyes and beak and different other parts.. I now needed to eat this bird. So I popped it in my mouth and again, it was good. The crunching of the bones and chewing on the beak is what got me a little bit but I pulled it together. :)

Good stuff right?

 

Well, that is my story and I need to go because its a holiday today.. there are lots of missisonaries. I love you all!!
